Why Stories?

I love stories, don’t you? Great stories draw you in and make you feel as if you are a part of something bigger. Sometimes good stories help us escape our crazy life. Other times, it feels as if the story was written about us. I love those ones. I feel as if someone understands me. Every once in a while, we wish our life would read like someone else’s. Be honest, it’s okay. Sometimes I feel that way too, especially when life keeps throwing me punches.

The best stories help us discover that we are not alone and that others are on this journey— called Life— with us. Some have similar stories, some don’t. Inside each one of us there is a longing to be a part of something greater than ourselves. Sometimes we cannot see how our ordinary lives will make a difference. Other times, we need hope for a better tomorrow. In other words, we need to know that what is written on today’s page is not the end of the story.
What if I told you that your life is one big unfolding story? Would you pick up your book and read all about you? Or would you ignore your story in favor of someone else’s?
My story and yours has purpose, but we cannot linger on today’s page savoring the good moments or slam the book shut in our struggles, disappointments, and failures. We must turn the page.

Join me as we find HOPE  in life’s unfolding story.
